This problem is still around, and doesn’t look very good.

The links goes to a 404 too.

An addition to this: if you search your site for a “hidden” product via the search, it’ll match products that under product visibility are “hidden” ... you click on the link, and it goes to a 404.

Sounds like because the overall search finds “hidden” products that the marketplace has them by default too?

This looks like it’s been fixed? At least as far as the specific’s shop search. Chad, are you still seeing stuff in the marketplace?

I also can find my hidden products via the shopify search and see the thumbnails, but get the NOT FOUND page error when clicking on them. I would think they should be hidden from the search.

I think the name of the product is excluded from search, but the full text description for the hidden product is not, allowing you to find it via search.

I’ve searched again for hidden products with the shopify search function, and they now do not show up. It may take a while for them to fall out of the index. At any rate, while not immediate, this seems to function properly and I was perhaps too impatient.

Somewhat related, I noticed hidden products were still being pushed to Google Base via the synctobase tools – and I’ve been told this will be addressed so the hidden will be truly hidden.
