HTTP error 406

Help! We are experiencing an HTTP ERROR 406 when we click on a product within a category in IE 6 and 7, which of course just brings it all to a halt. Any help would be greatly appreciated! url: More info:

We tried to isolate the error by testing the individual JS files and form elements. Even with super rudementray html the page crashes in IE. It seems to load the page fine but then hangs as it appears to make another request.

Question – are there any different server processes running when the product page loads?

Perhaps it’s got to do with the http request header. IE is super buggy when it comes to this.

Possibly something like… 406 HTTP return code from the web server, which means “Client browser does not accept the MIME type of the requested page”

Any way just food for thought. Any feedback is appreciated.

We figured it out. Apparently a PNG fix for IE that we were using was causing the error. Have changed the CSS, and it is all good now.

Chelsea,

I’m using a lot of PNGs in my layout, and am getting that error when I use the IE png fix. Would you mind sharing your workaround? (Please tell me you did not have to resort to gif files instead!)

Thanks,
Drew

I will look it up drew and post it; I have forgotten what we did to get around it, but I am sure I can figure it out again.
