I wonder if the lack of other people on this thread suggests that people are not really serious about getting their sites out there.

I try and build links every day – how many other people are doing that? Without the traffic they won’t get the orders and to get traffic they need reputation and to get reputation they need links! SEO 101!

OK—Jonathon. I stumbled upon your site and gave it a thumbs up. Will u do the same? I mean it’s not like we’re going to become millionaires overnight but if we all help each other I think we can up our hits. BTW, just so you know, I signed up for the stumble upon advertising campaign about 2 hours ago and I’ve already had 16 hits since then. You can target your audience through the stumble campaign… anyone have any other suggestions for marketing?

About advertising.
You hear a lot about niche marketing nowadays.
Pick off of google where you think you fit in.

Alright here’s how you do the stumble thing correctly—

You have to click on the thumbs up button twice (not double click). The first time, it registers the site. But on the second time that you click the thumbs up button, you fill out this really quick box that says oh, you found a good site. Tell us about it. And so I’ve done that for all of you except gammazon.com.au because I forgot to put the .au after the .com so I’ll go do that now.

As far as delicious goes? I’ll be back on that one.

Hmm, when I click twice like you suggested it actually removes my thumbs up from that site. I only get a pop-up box asking for information if the site hasn’t been entered into StumbleUpon before.

I just added a stumbleupon button to my product template so now folks can stumble individual products…people do this for articles on blogs, so why not products? Speaking of which, I just added it to blog posts also.

We’ll see how it goes!

I just added the following code to my product template (be sure to replace the img and product url’s with your own):

Hi – you may be interested in this http://www.addthis.com/. You can customise it to include a heap of social bookmarking sites (delicious, stumbleupon, reddit, digg + facebook, myspace etc)

I have added everyone to Stumble and del.icio.us ; thanks Meashman for the Add This tip. It was very easy to add to my blogger template; I will try to add it to my shopify site as well.

Btw, I’ve noticed an increase in traffic today from StumbleUpon by adding the buttons to my products and stumbling a select few.

Delicious and StumbleUpon can be great tools for driving traffic but not unless you genuinely have something worth Stumbling.

Having experimented with lots of bookmarking services, I have found that StumbleUpon will reliably bring in 100/200 dazed new visitors… for a day.

Using StumbleUpon when you have something worth Stumbling, creates a domino effect, where they then stumble your page, and then someone else stumbles your page. This then creates a continuous amount of traffic as opposed to a one hit spike which at the end of the day is useless.

Hey I wonder if Kaboodle works too. I have been getting a handful of visitors per day from there just from one person bookmarking a product from our site!
