Hey gang, I’m Shannon, and I’m one of the newest members of Jaded Pixel. I’m the person in charge of the long-sought-after affiliate program. The program and all its details is in the works and nearly ready to go. I’ve spent a lot of time reviewing the questions and comments that have been posted here previously about the affiliate program and gotten a whole lot of great feedback and ideas. I have a couple of questions I’d like to ask you. Aside from the capability to sign up as an affiliate and to be able to gain commission on clients you’ve brought to Shopify, what else do you need from us to be successful? Would you use creatives like banners or copy, for example? What would you be looking for from us? Hey Shannon! I don’t have much input here as you guys always put together clever systems, but did want to add my two cents since I’ll definitely benefit from this program.

I’d love to have a good tracking system, both an overview of monthly commissions and individually by client. I’ve attached a screenshot of how we handle affiliates in Fetch.
Receiving commissions on both the monthly fee and monthly sales would certainly be an incentive! We handle all the support for clients we refer, so it’d be nice to get a “maintenance” fee for the servicing we provide.

I don’t really have any affiliate feature requests at this point, but I wanted to say that I’m glad this is getting up and running. I suggest Shopify to many people and I’m excited for the affiliate program.

Welcome to Shopify! Is there a timeframe yet for this feature. I just received a request for this and want to know if I need to hack something together or if there will be a solution relatively soon. Thanks!

EDIT Nevermind …. wrong affiliate type. Found what I was looking for.

I have a new client and am redoing the
getwool website currently most of getwool
sales of yarn, wool blankets and sweaters
are done at craft shows….

...One requirement is an affiliate program,
particularly for non profit institutions.
So, with an affiliate link one could buy
the product, track affiliate sales with reports,
prepare the CSV file for batch payment by Paypal
(a system I’ve used before).

Also we’d like to have the logo and a text area
to show up for the customer in the shopping cart…
The logo/text would be for the non-profit or other affiliate.

It would be nice to also offer special pricing for
the affiliate and have the ability to set the
percent that the affiliate receives from the sale.

Please let me know how soon your affiliate program will be
ready. Call or write if you have additional questions.

So far, I like what I see with Shopify…. compared to
other carts I’ve used.

@ chris.3sunset - from the sounds of it, you could have used Wigify Affiliate Management for your client's request. Well, had we been around in the beginning of '08.

@ MaineBob - same applies to you too, Wigify would have been perfect for your client's needs back then.

Not to sound too salesy, but if you have a need for Affiliate Management in the future, for any client shops or your own, http://www.wigify.com will be able to help you out.
