I'm wondering if anyone's built a simple Store Locator tool to showcase their brick and mortar accounts. I'm trying to figure out a way to build a cost effective one that allows users to select by state/province then get a list of my retail client stores. Ideally, this would be synced with a map too.

Google Maps has a really powerful API, check it out a tutorial here: http://code.google.com/apis/maps/articles/phpsqlsearch.html

Building these types of apps need a little programming expertise and you are going to need another server to host the MySQL and PHP files.

I can't think of any other quick and easy solution off the top of my head.

Hi,

There actually a few ways you can do this using Google Maps without requiring a dedicated server.

Depending on how interactive you need the maps, you can either get google to produce static images of your store locations, or you can, completely in Javascript, include Google Maps with markers to all your store locations.

We'll try and post a sample shortly.
