I think my site is down! What should I do?

Everybody here at JadedPixel is absolutely dedicated to making Shopify the premiere e-commerce platform available.

Sometimes bad things happen though, and for when they do, here’s what you can do:

1) Ask a friend and see if they can load your Shopify store.

2) Come to these forums, and see if other Shopify users are having the same problem as you.

These first two steps are necessary because just because Shopify doesn’t load in your current browser session, from your current location doesn’t mean that the service is actually unavailable to the rest of the Internet.

As a fail-safe, try using http://www.alertra.com/spotcheck.php, which loads your Shopify store from up to 10 remote locations around the world.

3) Report an outage to pixels@jadedpixel.com, use as much detail as possible to describe the problem. If there is an error message on the screen, copy and paste it, or take a screenshot and send it to us. Just emailing “my site is down!” is not nearly as helpful as a screenshot showing what your browser displays, and corroborating reports from 2-3 other people who are not in the same building as you.
